Super King Beds

A UK super king bed accommodates a mattress measuring 180cm wide by 200cm long (6ft x 6ft6). This gives each person in a couple approximately 90cm of width — comparable to two single beds side by side — and is the most spacious standard UK bed size available.

A super king bed works best in a master bedroom at least 4 metres wide and 4.5 metres long. In a smaller room, the bed can dominate the space and leave limited room for circulation. We recommend sketching your floor plan including door swing and wardrobe access before committing to a super king size.

Super king bases are always delivered as two separate halves which are joined together in the room using linking bars. The headboard arrives as a single unit. Our two-man delivery team handles all super king deliveries as standard and will assemble the base in your room.

Super king mattresses (180 x 200cm) are a standard UK size and available from all major mattress retailers. However, super king bedding — particularly fitted sheets and duvet sets — can be harder to find than king or double sizes. We recommend purchasing super king bedding at the same time as your bed.

For couples who value maximum sleeping space, yes — the extra 30cm of width over a king is significant, particularly for those who share with a restless sleeper or have a larger build. The main considerations are room size and cost. If your room comfortably accommodates a super king, it is a worthwhile long-term investment in sleep quality.
