  • Our metal bed frames are constructed from heavy-gauge steel with a powder-coated finish. The powder coating provides a durable, smooth surface that is resistant to chipping and scratching and is available in a range of colours. Full material and finish details are listed on each product page.

  • A well-assembled metal bed should not creak. Creaking can occur if the fixings work loose over time. We recommend periodically checking all nuts and bolts and tightening as needed. Applying a small amount of clear beeswax to metal joints can reduce any noise from metal-on-metal contact.

  • Metal frames are extremely durable and resistant to the kind of structural wear that can affect wooden joints over time. They are also easier to clean than upholstered frames. The main consideration is style — metal beds suit industrial, Scandi, or minimalist interiors particularly well.

  • Metal slatted bed bases are compatible with all standard mattress types including memory foam, pocket sprung, orthopaedic, and hybrid mattresses, provided the slat spacing is no more than 7cm. Slat spacing on our metal frames is within the recommended range and is specified on each product page.

  • Our metal bed frames are designed for adult use. For children's beds, we recommend our dedicated Kids Beds range which is specifically safety-tested for younger users. If you are considering a metal frame for an older child or teenager, please check the individual product's age guidance.
