Charcoal Beds

Charcoal is distinctly darker than our standard grey — it sits at the deep end of the grey spectrum with near-black undertones. The two are listed as separate colourways where both are available. If you're working with a dark, dramatic interior scheme, charcoal is the stronger choice. For a lighter neutral, our grey or mink options would be more appropriate.

Dark fabrics like charcoal can show light-coloured lint, dust, and pet hair more visibly than mid-tones. Regular vacuuming with a soft brush attachment is recommended. A fabric-safe lint roller is useful for quick touch-ups, particularly on velvet surfaces.

Charcoal beds work particularly well in contemporary, industrial, and Scandi interior schemes. Paired with white walls and natural wood, charcoal creates a bold, grounding contrast. In a maximalist or moody bedroom, charcoal combined with deep jewel tones and textured fabrics creates a dramatic, enveloping look.

A charcoal bed can anchor a room and add depth, which works well in larger rooms. In a small room with limited natural light it can make the space feel heavier. To balance this, use light-coloured walls, reflective surfaces, and layered lighting. A lower-profile design in charcoal will feel less imposing than a tall wingback.
