Soft, Smooth Luxury

Plush Velvet Beds for Everyday Luxury

Plush velvet's pile is smooth and uniform rather than irregular, which gives it a more polished, formal look than crushed velvet, closer to a hotel headboard than a statement piece. It's the better choice if you want the softness of velvet without the fabric becoming the focal point of the room.

Available across signature, low headboard and wingback frames in a curated colour palette. Velvet does mark and flatten with pressure, so occasional brushing keeps the pile looking even.

Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know before you order.

  • Plush velvet has an exceptionally soft, uniform pile that lies flat in a single direction, giving a consistent, smooth finish. It has a gentle sheen without the high-contrast lustre of crushed velvet, and a tactile softness that makes it particularly popular for bedroom upholstery. It is the most widely used velvet type in our bed range.

  • Velvet is directional — touching or pressing against the pile in the opposite direction creates a visible shadow that can look like a mark. This is a characteristic of all velvet fabrics and not a fault. Lightly brushing the pile back into its natural direction with your hand or a soft cloth will restore the uniform appearance.

  • If the velvet pile becomes flattened, hold a steam iron a few centimetres above the fabric — do not touch the fabric directly — and allow the steam to raise the pile. Then gently brush with a soft-bristled brush in the pile direction. This restores the fabric to its original appearance.

  • Plush velvet is a beautiful fabric but requires more care than flat-weave fabrics in a busy household. For rooms with children or pets, we'd suggest applying a fabric protector spray from day one and being prompt with any spill treatment. Many families choose plush velvet for master bedrooms where it sees less intense use.

  • Plush velvet is our most widely offered fabric and is available in the broadest range of colours across our bed frame and headboard collections — including cream, white, grey, mink, blush, charcoal, and more. The full colour range for each style is shown on the product listing.
