Boucle Beds

Boucle beds have become one of the most celebrated trends in contemporary UK bedroom design, offering a level of tactile richness and visual interest that sets them apart from any standard upholstered frame. The distinctive looped yarn structure of boucle fabric creates a subtly textured, almost sculptural surface that catches light beautifully and pairs naturally with rattan, linen and raw timber for a warm, nature-inspired aesthetic. Available across all UK bed sizes with ottoman storage on selected styles.

Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know before you order.

  • Boucle is a looped or curled yarn fabric that has a distinctive textured, slightly nubby surface. It has a soft, tactile quality and a warm, organic appearance. It is currently one of the most popular upholstery materials in contemporary interior design, valued for its texture and natural aesthetic.

  • Yes — our boucle fabric is upholstery-grade and designed for daily furniture use. However, boucle is more susceptible to snagging on sharp objects or jewellery than flat-weave fabrics, so care should be taken in that regard. For general everyday use on a bed frame, boucle performs very well and maintains its texture with proper care.

  • Vacuum boucle regularly using a soft brush attachment to remove dust and debris from the looped pile. For spot cleaning, blot gently with a damp cloth — do not rub, as this can cause the loops to pull and distort. Avoid harsh cleaning products. A fabric protector spray applied from new is highly recommended to reduce marking.

  • Boucle is available in a more limited colour palette than velvet — typically cream, white, grey, mink, beige, and charcoal. It is not available in all the same colourways as velvet due to the nature of the yarn dyeing process. Available colours are shown on each product listing.

  • Boucle's looped texture means pet claws can sometimes snag the fabric more easily than smooth velvet. However, boucle is generally better at hiding light-coloured pet hair and dust than dark velvet. For pet owners, a flat-weave linen-effect or plush velvet in a mid-tone colour is typically the most practical choice.
