King Beds

King beds offer generous sleeping space and are ideal for anyone who wants extra comfort at night. A standard UK king size bed measures 5ft wide, which provides more width than a double bed and creates room to stretch out. This makes king beds a popular choice for master bedrooms and larger spaces.

Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know before you order.

  • A UK king size bed accommodates a mattress measuring 150cm wide by 200cm long (5ft x 6ft6). This gives each person in a couple around 75cm of width — noticeably more space than a double — and the extra 10cm in length compared to a double is appreciated by taller sleepers.

  • For most couples, yes — the king size is widely regarded as the most practical upgrade for sleep quality. The additional 15cm of width per person is meaningfully different, and the extra 10cm in length is beneficial for anyone over 6ft. If your bedroom can accommodate it, a king size is our most popular recommendation for couples.

  • As a rough guide, a king size bed works comfortably in a room at least 3.5 metres wide and 4 metres long, allowing for bedside tables and access around the bed. We'd recommend drawing out your floor plan before ordering.

  • You need a UK king size mattress (150 x 200cm) — a double mattress (135 x 190cm) will be too narrow and too short for a king frame. We offer a full range of king size mattresses across all construction types if you need to complete the set.

  • King size and super king frames are delivered by our two-man team as standard due to the size and weight of the components. The base sections arrive in two halves for easier manoeuvring, and the two-man team will bring everything to your room of choice.
